COVID-19 UPDATE ON PLANS FOR RE-OPENING CHURCH

Read for more details concerning our plan for re-opening Calvary and meeting together to worship.

The Leadership Board met this week to discuss the plan for reopening the church over the next few weeks. Currently, our state government is acting in phases to reopen businesses and has set differing levels of guidelines concerning social interactions. While no specific restrictions have been placed on churches, we believe that Calvary should abide by the state guidelines as much as possible in order to insure the safety of our as risk church members.

The state guidelines governing social interactions from phase 0 through 3 are as follows:

Phase 0 - Social Gatherings

All individuals are urged to continue to maximize physical distance from others in public, particularly in enclosed environments. Individuals are urged to avoid socializing in groups of more than 10 people.

Phase 1 - Social Gatherings

All individuals should continue to maximize physical distance from others in public, particularly in enclosed environments. Individuals should avoid socializing in groups of more than 10 people in circumstances that do not readily allow for appropriate social distancing of at least 6 feet.

Phase 2 - Social Gatherings

All individuals should continue to maximize physical distance from others in public, particularly in enclosed environments.

  • Individuals should avoid socializing in groups of more than 50 people in circumstances that do not readily allow for appropriate social distancing of at least 6 feet.

Phase 3 - Social Gatherings

Non-vulnerable populations should consider minimizing time spent in crowded environments.

It is the belief of the Leadership Board that Calvary should continue online only ministry until the state reaches Phase 2 guidelines which allows for the gathering of fifty people. Once the State declares Phase 2 to be in effect, Calvary will begin a soft open of our facility. At that time, the following guidelines will be in place:

  1. Calvary will move to two Sunday morning worship services to help minimize the number of people present in the sanctuary. These services will take place at 9:00am and 11:00am.
  2. We will not have CBC KIDS children’s worship on campus, but will continue providing children’s worship online.
  3. Nursery will not be provided.
  4. All other ministries (Sunday school, Bible studies, other services, etc.) will not take place until further notice.
  5. Those in attendance will be encouraged to wear face masks while attending church.
  6. Those in attendance will be encouraged to observe social distancing, keeping a 6 foot distance between other people at all times.
  7. Those in attendance will be asked not to linger in the sanctuary after service.
  8. Hand sanitizer stations will be set up at each entrance/exit.
  9. The sanctuary will be sanitized after each service.

In Christ,

Pastor Chuck
